BUILDING CHURCHES AND COMMUNITY SINCE 2012

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST

This past week (week of October 21, 2024) the gangs finally broke through and seized Arcahaie, the village where our main church compound and many of our leaders lived.  We received the heartbreaking news late Monday night from Didi.  The villagers are fearful and many have left the area.

Our leaders have relocated to the mountains with their families for personal safety.  This was based on our recommendation they did not need to leave anyone behind on security detail at the church.  As Jeff stated, “We can replace block, mortar and metal, but we cannot replace lost lives.”

We are asking our CrossRoads family for prayer over this situation and our family and friends in Haiti.  The situation is now close to ‘home’ and we need to seek God’s protection over those we know and love as well as all families in Haiti who are impacted by the gang situation.

Church Plants

Leger Church Site

We are so very encouraged that in spite of the situation, our leaders in Haiti continue to identify opportunities to plant new churches.  While we maintain support of our existing six churches in Ponce, Williamson North, Saintard, Fort Delpeche, Boucan and Marre, we have identified several additional communities for church plants in the mountains of Haiti. Click the link below to see the existing church buildings which we will be replacing.

Food Program

Feeding children

The Food Program operates out of our Ponce church and continues to minister to the church family, school children and those in the surrounding community who are struggling to provide food for their families. We are preparing more than 200 meals per day and would love to expand, but the logistics of doing so are very challenging. We also provide food supplies to the Pastors at other CrossRoad churches.

SCHOOL SUPPORT

Kindergarten children

Schools under CrossRoads Leadership

CrossRoads has three schools that we support teachers and buy school materials for.

They are: Ponce, Doco 2 and Fort Delpeche.

Our first school is at our community church at Ponce. We have three kindergarten classes at this school and then the children can transition into the government school, which starts at First grade and is local walk for the children.

Doco 2 School is held in a church in the mountains and consists of kindergarten to sixth grade.

Fort Delpeche School is in our church in the mountains about three hours away.

We offer grades First to Third.

Why we exist

White Diamond Graphic

CrossRoads Mission Haiti, founded in 2012, continues building strong foundations for the future.

When we first started CrossRoads, our main purpose was to take in orphaned, teenage boys that had “aged out” of an orphanage.

During the first several years of training these boys, it became apparent that some of these boys were not truly orphans. They had living relatives, which our boys didn’t know existed until connections with community lead them to contacts with relatives.

Not all children at orphanages are truly orphans. Haitian parents that have multiple children and cannot feed, cloth or education them see better opportunities that their children might receive in an orphanage, so they are relinquished to orphanages in hopes of a better life. Seeing the issues our boys have struggled with because they were given up made us aware of the church’s responsibility to help keep families together. Surround struggling families with hope, discipleship, encouragement and funding or education is done to keep the children with their parents.

After much prayer, we felt God calling CrossRoads to plant churches and bring struggling churches under our leadership to offer them training how to minister and disciple their communities. CrossRoads goal to the local churches is to explain Jesus’s love for them and the eternal hope they can receive, give them sound biblical teaching and disciple them on life struggles. Life is not easy in Haiti and promoting family stability through the church is the best opportunity to reach the Haitian communities.

It is our hope and prayer as we move forward from a transitional boys home to church planting are; our churches will become lighthouses in their communities, that all who enter, will find the hope that only Christ can give and “spread” the light to every man, woman and child the church comes in contact with.

CrossRoads’ foundational Scripture is Jeremiah 6:16, “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Our Mission

White Diamond Graphic

CrossRoads was founded with a specific purpose given to us by God. We continue to stand at the crossroads an listen for God’s voice, his prompting to step out in faith where He would lead us (Jeremiah 6:16). Obedience to the one true God is the cornerstone of our foundation with integrity and sincerity; the key qualities we believe are essential to bring praise and honor to God in everything we do. We want to grow in response to the needs that God identifies for us and not to glorify ourselves. God, our board and our benefactors must hold us accountable to these beliefs and values.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

White Diamond Graphic

We believe that there is one God, manifested in God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God.

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ is the only atonement for our sin.

We believe that God calls everyone to share the Gospel to unbelievers everywhere (Matthew 28:19); by our words and more importantly, by our deeds.

We believe that we must be honest in all our activities and transactions and be open and truthful not only with those who benefit from the foundation, but also with those who choose to put their financial trust in our foundation.
